Asset management for municipal infrastructure

Municipal infrastructure inventory and maintenance program, Longueuil

Implementation and execution of an inventory and maintenance program for the municipality’s roadways, sewers and waterworks infrastructures to ensure the sustainability of infrastructures. The objectives of the municipality are to establish the state of the assets and to anticipate and justify the actual and future needs in capital, to standardize the analysis and decision-making processes through the different districts of the new City and to optimize costs.

Unique aspects

This innovative approach for municipal asset management was proposed to several merged cities.  It is defined as the activities package that aims at minimizing global costs associated to the property, operation and maintenance of these assets while offering to the user the desired level of service.  This approach will also provide decision makers with pertinent information on future investments.
