Transportation and traffic planning Redevelopment of Galeries Rive-Nord's parking areas and traffic study – Ivanhoé (2002) - Dessau, through the project's first step, has made recommendations to Ivanhoé inc., in the Brien interchange preliminary study. During the second step, Dessau prepared the traffic study and redevelopment of parking areas at Galeries Rive-Nord. Opportunity study for need identification and planning for interventions on Highway 15, between Highways 40 and 640 - DOT (1998-2002) - The study's objective is to analyse the various elements on Highway 15, between Highway 40 and exit 23 of Highway 640 North, in a global approach, so as to identify requirements and nature of interventions required for a period of twenty years; distribute the responsibilities among the various involved partners, while keeping in mind its traffic and safety role, its position among the various networks, its integration in the city and its role in the regional economy, so as to, finally, develop the optimal intervention scenario and the execution strategy. Opportunity and feasibility studies for light railway systems in the axis A-10/stage and Henri-Bourassa boulevard - DOT (1999-2000) - To consolidate and increase public transportation in the metropolitan region axes where there's a high density of car and bus traffic, the DOT has mandated the AMT for the preliminary opportunity and feasibility studies before the implementation of light railway systems of the four corridors on the Montreal and South Shore territories. The AMT has mandated the consortium to which Dessau belong, to prepare the opportunity and feasibility portion of the LRS for two corridors, one of which crosses the Henri-Bourassa axis. Preliminary Study - Highway 640 interchange's prolongation to Des Seigneurs boulevard, Terrebonne (1991-1992) Environmental and traffic impact study of various proposed scenarios for the connection of Highway 640' service road to chemin Gascon. Signage of bus exclusive lane, boulevard des Laurentides and Pont Viau, Laval and Montréal – DOT and STL (1987-1988) - A lane restricted exclusively to the S.T.L.'s buses was implemented permanently in the middle of the boulevard and bridge, on a 1,2 km distance. This lane is used during morning and evening peak hours, against the traffic direction; it is not physically separated from the general traffic on both sides, nor is it on the entire distance. That is why a easily readable signage with variable messaging systen was implemented to increase traffic safety. Study : regional access to the GLEN site, for the implementation of a new hospital centre - McGill University health centre (2000-2002) - The first phase was concluded by a consensus on the selection of interventions to be validated in the second phase of the mandate. The second phase included the site access traffic impact study, intervention measurement of the scenario retained during phase 1, the parking requirement analysis, of the truck access, of emergency services access as well as public transit, pedestrian or cycling traffic access. A preliminary study was conducted for access to the Glen site, including preliminary design and cost estimates for the U-shaped ramp and for Highway 720 entrance and exit ramps modification. Opportunity study - Félix-Leclerc Freeway, Quebec city – DOT (2001-2003) - This mandate consists in identifying present and foreseeable transportation problems on this freeway segment and establishing the most appropriate solutions to resolve these problems. The study must also determine the pertinence of extending the Félix-Leclerc freeway from freeway Henri-IV west bound to road 367 within the government’s right-of-way, acquired over 30 years ago. Unique aspects of this project:During the first stage, detailed sector analysis was carried out for the following elements: social and economic context, functional characteristics of road network, geometric characteristics, traffic characteristics , road safety, environmental problematics of road network. From this analysis, it became possible to prepare a problem summary. This exercise made it possible to target each element requiring corrective measures, examine their interrelations and identify foreseeable point-to-point solutions. On this basis, we were able to determine operational objectives, and solutions were then outlined. Finally, it was decided that an intervention was required and recommendations were made to further the study. The design assessment is in progress. Services provided included assessment of territory under review;·data collection;· needs assessment (Step 1); design assessment (Step 2);· and presentation of opportunity study results (Step 3). Drawings and technical specifications, traffic light dynamic management program on four axes, city of Montreal (2003- ongoing) - The City of Montreal wanted to acquire a dynamic traffic light management system for the Henri-Bourassa, Crémazie, Pie-Ix and Sherbrooke arteries. The mandate's objective was to modernize the existing traffic lights but also to increase traffic flot, incrase users' safety and improve traffic management systems. Dessau, in collaboration with Altitude, Groupe IBI and Tecsult, was mandated for the execution of this program for 165 crossroads identified as part of these four axes. top page |
