Algeria

Energy Efficiency, Algeria - At the request of HQI and Sonergaz, Dessau carried out an energy efficiency audit in an Algerian industrial to be used as a sample.  The Cimenterie de Hamma Bouzaine in the Eastern region of Algeria was chosen by Sonelgaz.  (1997)

Egypt

Automation project, Alexandria - The client operates a foundry where electrical arc-furnaces (EAF) and induction furnaces are major loads. The furnaces are controlled independently from one another, therefore causing load demand peaks well above the average power consumption prescribed by the electrical generation utility. These load demand peaks result in heavy penalties that increase substantially the plant production costs. Moreover, the plant is fed from two independent sources with no demand period synchronization. The project consists in implementing an energy management system, based on programmable logic controllers (PLC), which centralizes, controls and monitors plant load demand continuously. The control system synchronizes load demand from the two electrical sources and sheds appropriate loads, the EAFs and induction furnaces, thus increasing production of the plant and reducing the average power consumption.(1995-1997)

The control system synchronizes load demand from the two electrical sources and sheds appropriate loads, the EAFs and induction furnaces, thus increasing production of the plant and reducing the average power consumption. (1995-1997)
